WiSE student leader receives prestigious Dorothy M. Haas award

Congratulations to WiSE student leader Elizabeth, who last week was named one of two Dorothy M. Haas award winners. Even if you don’t know Elizabeth, you likely know about some of the community service initiatives that she has created and implemented through WiSE, including the partnership with Buffalo Public School MST, multiple visits to the students enrolled in the GEAR UP program at MST and several shadow days for those students. Last year, the Outreach Committee, led by Elizabeth, was awarded the Community Impact Award by the Center for Student Engagement for their sustained efforts to increase the representation of women in STEM. Elizabeth has been the face of WiSE for several years and we are so proud of all that she has accomplished, as she prepares for graduation. Congrats again to Elizabeth!
